what I’m wearing underneath my abaya is a good indication of how fed up I am with my existence that day
god damn i am losing it. I leave work and when I get to my car I can’t find my keys only to find them in the ignition. so then I put it in my pocket and clear the snow off the windshield.
after, I sit in the drivers seat shivering for 15 mins and then finally I ask myself what am I doing/waiting for, only to realize I haven’t even started the car ???
the only reason i don’t fight yt girls is because they press charges

bitch a cop car cant hop a fence
trying to make a meal plan for the (to reuse monthly) month, it’s kind of hard when I’m trying to stay healthy and I eat a lot throughout the day but don’t have time to make food 24/7
and all these healthy eating recipe sites have such small food portions/appetizer looking meals so it’s not realistic for me to make them. I need food I can make in batches then refrigerate/freeze that will fill me up
also an easy breakfast routine, cooking every morning (when it comes to oatmeal/eggs) is so time consuming esp. when I get off my bed at the last min. bc 14 hour sleep cycles are my norm
2014 will really be a muddy year for me

EPIC moment during the awesome #BlackFemMusic conversation that I was one of the contributors to yesterday. @FeministaJones shoutout Missy’s contribution to Black feminism through music and @MissyElliott herself responds? Goodness; awesome! ❤
Missy Elliott’s music was CRITICAL to my high school and college years. She definitely is on the “coming of age” Black woman empowerment soundtrack that resides in my heart and ears. Her messages of self-esteem, subverting Eurocentric beauty norms, confidence, creativity, joy, pain, reflection, sexual agency, choice and pleasure and so much more are everything. Her work with Timbaland and the late beautiful and talented Aaliyah is everything. But even off the stage so to speak, Missy has done work. She has a past of being a spokesperson, speaking out against domestic violence, something personal to her childhood experience. Her music has always made me feel not only empowered but really happy. Joy is not antithetical to feminism. I recall some serious dancing to her music in college on the weekends and it was always a blast with my friends who were mostly Black women.
One thing I really love is that her music seems like it is for any Black woman (and anyone who loves good music) and never made me feel like it hinged on “respectability“ no matter how some fans like her only as an "alternative” or “rejection” of Black women that they do not deem “respectable” enough. She regularly diverted that rigidity and sang/rapped whatever she wanted. Her vision, creativity and influence have a ripple effect not just in Black feminist politics but in music itself.
Her long list of accomplishments speaks for itself and I feel incredibly honored that she noticed our conversation on Black feminism and music and had this exchange with @FeministaJones, who is so awesome herself.

if I knew any better before, I would have worked two years straight before going to school & bought a cheap building from an auction w/out worrying about paying back a loan (unlike that early ‘12 fiasco) & let it make money for me on the side & keep working till I felt ok enough to start school bc I still feel pushed into it even after a year break and why would you even recommend a depressed and aimless person to attend college, im not invested/driven enough to thrive in that type of setting sorry i don’t want to bend over backwards for academia when my goal is nowhere in sight now im stuck on this dumb pointless work flow making nothing
